Networked ID3000 range offers flexible fire safety solution for multi-purpose Jersey complex

Castle Quay, the Jersey based residential and retail development, has selected a Notifier by Honeywell solution to provide advanced fire safety protection across the multi-purpose site. The twin block, six storey complex is protected by a combination of two networked ID 3000 panels for the residential communal areas, with standalone ID50 panels for the individual commercial units, including coffee shops and fashion stores.

Opal smoke detectors integrate with the ID panels to form a comprehensive fire safety layout. In addition, a sophisticated cause and effect matrix has been fitted enabling a flexible response that is adapted to each of the commercial units, residential and communal areas that it protects. A warning would then come up on the panel interface alerting the fire officer directly to the area experiencing a potential issue.

jerseyNotifier's Engineered Systems Distributor, and part of international security solutions group G4S Jersey, designed and installed the fire safety system. Paul Pugsley, Systems Surveyor, G4S Jersey, says: "We have worked with Notifier for 15 years and we've always found the technology to be robust, reliable and flexible. The fact that we are a resident business with international backing and that we can provide Castle Quay with local maintenance, has been key to our winning of the contract."

The new complex went into development at the end of 2010 and many of the residential penthouse suites and commercial units are already occupied.
Rick Love, strategic product manager, Notifier by Honeywell, says: "Castle Quay provides a great example of how flexible solutions can protect both commercial and residential areas within a large integrated development. Such solutions provide demonstrable benefits for system designers, installers and those using the building regularly, or on occasion."
